Pick-a-Word is a fun and creative way for students to practice adjectives in context! This no-prep activity can be used whole-class, as a writing warm-up, for some fun morning word work, or as a literacy center activity.
There are 30 different Adjective Pick-a-Word paragraphs (10 pages with three on each page) for students to work through. Let students finish each Pick-a-Word and then illustrate a matching picture. These make a colorful, and interesting-to-read bulletin board, too! Or, create a class book (two book cover options included) for students to enjoy in your class library.
One more idea: Since there are ten pages in this set, I like to give each student at a table group a different Pick-a-Word page. After students complete theirs, they can read them to one another. Throughout the year, we use these for more adjective review and eventually compile our class book…so fun!
Included in this file:
-Directions with a finished sample photo to show students
-30 different Adjective Pick-a-Word pages, three on each page (10 pages total)
-A blank Adjective Pick-a-Word page for students to create their own with a partner!
-Two book cover options
-Two border options to choose from for each Pick-a-Word
-Ten sample answer keys – great for students that are struggling and need to see some ideas. Or, if a parent volunteer is running this as a grammar center, they have a sample.
