Solve It Strips are a FUN, hands-on, puzzle-like, math extension activity that keeps students engaged! These can be used as a math center, an early-finisher activity, with a parent-led math group, or as a mini-assessment. Solve It Strips also make fun home practice, too!

This set of Solve It Strips focuses on counting to 10 and counting to 20, using groups of pictures, ten frames, cubes, dice, and dominoes. There are five strips that focus on counting to 10, five strips that focus on counting from 11-20, and five strips that focus on counting 1-20.

Students are challenged to use their counting skills in solving the problems on each strip. Students begin with the “Start” strip and count the picture on that strip. That will lead them to the second strip, and so forth, until students end up with the solution for the “FINISH” strip. Students can color in the pictures and match it to the solution box on the next strip to check over their work. It is best to introduce this activity to little learners in a small, guided math group first, and then they are able to do it as an independent center activity.

Two cover options are included for the Solve It Strips, along with easy directions for storage and an answer key!
